Meet Aida

Aida Ashouri is a human rights lawyer who has spent her career on the front lines—defending immigrants, standing up for working families, protecting our environment, and fighting for survivors. Now, she’s taking that fight to City Hall. Aida is running a truly grassroots campaign, powered by people—no corporate cash, no big oil, no war profiteers, and definitely no real estate giants. Her only allegiance is to the people of Los Angeles.

With her roots as a community organizer, Aida is ready to shake up an out of touch City office. As an immigrant, she embodies tenacity and perseverance, striving to craft a better Los Angeles for all. Angelenos need a fierce advocate in their corner, and Aida is that bold voice. She’s the fresh leadership we need to secure rights, shield tenants from slumlords, and put people over profits.

Aida Ashouri for LA

With years of advocacy experience, Aida tirelessly fights for justice. As a legal aid attorney, she supported renters and low-income small business owners, confronting landlords and simplifying legal processes. As an immigrant rights attorney, she has championed asylum seekers and advised immigration judges with dedication. In court, Aida has tackled criminal cases, from DUIs to domestic violence, in Los Angeles and San Diego.

Outside the courtroom, Aida’s community commitment is evident. As a member of the Los Feliz Neighborhood Council Governing Board and the Griffith Park Advisory Board, she successfully advocated for pedestrian and cyclist safety infrastructure and stronger renter protections. In 2024, she passed a ceasefire resolution, drawing on her experience at the Khmer Rouge Tribunal, where she helped indict the regime’s president for war crimes. Aida’s journey exemplifies courage, commitment, and change.
